Custom Response from Google Assistant

I have received many requests to create multiple copies of Custom responses from Google Assistant applet. This applet uses filter code(written in typescript) but IFTTT has made them a paid feature now so I can't create them. The difference was that you wouldn't get any email from the applet unlike others.

I can't even create copies of the applet so I will guide you to manually create one. Rest assured you won't get any emails or notifications just like the earlier applet that you used.

Using IFTTT

  1. Log into IFTTT and click on 'New Applet' or you may directly Click here.
  2. Tap on 'this'.
  3. Search and select 'Google Assistant'.
  4. Next you need to select "Say a simple Phrase".
  5. There will be three "What do you want to say" which you must be familiar with and a "What do you want Assistant to say in response?". Fill them as per your choice. Let the language remain English.
  6. Fill all those fields and tap on 'Create trigger'
  7. Tap on 'that'.
  8. Search and Select 'WebHooks'.
  9. Tap on 'Create web request'.
  10. Tap on 'Connect'.
  11. Select 'Make a web request'.
  12. In the URL Field enter any URL or www.google.com . It doesn't matter what URL you use.
  13. Tap on 'Create Action'.
  14. Turn off "Receive notifications when this Applet runs" so you won't be getting any notifications.
  15. Tap on 'Finish'.
Congratulations, you have created an applet yourself. Repeat as many times as you want and create multiple custom response applet

Without using IFTTT

  1. Open Google app.
  2. Tap the three horizontal bars at bottom right.
  3. Go to 'Settings'.
  4. Under Google Assistant. Tap Settings.
  5. Scroll down and select Routines.
  6. Tap '+'
  7. Tap 'Add Commands' and Enter what you would like to say to Assistant.
  8. Tap Ok to save. You may add more ways to say by tapping + on that screen.
  9. Go back and tap 'Add action'.
  10. Tap "Choose popular action".
  11. Scroll down to Custom Responses.
  12. Click the check box in front of "Say Something" and then tap setting icon on the right.
  13. Type the response you want from Assistant.
  14. Go back and tap 'Add' at the top right corner of the screen.
  15. Tap ✔(tick icon) on the top right.
    And now you are done.
You may now create multiple custom response applet with or without IFTTT. Have a great day.
